Everything you might want to know about buying, downloading, printing, and getting help — straight from Shawn. Can't find your answer? Send me a note and I'll usually reply within 24 hours.

GENERAL
3DShawn is a small solo shop — every model here is designed, print-tested, and shipped by me (Shawn) from my basement, nicknamed "The Toy Factory." No middlemen, no marketplace fees eating the margin, just clean STLs and photos of the actual test print so you know exactly what you're getting.
No. Browse the whole catalogue freely without signing up. You only need a free account to buy, download, save favourites, or leave a review.
Yes — I keep a handful of free models available so you can try my style before buying. Look for the FREE badge on the model card. Everything else is a small one-off purchase, and some are grouped into discounted bundles.
Anywhere in the world. Prices are in USD, all major credit and debit cards accepted. If your card is refused for any reason, drop me a note and I'll help sort it.
Peek at Coming Soon — every design I'm actively working on shows up there with a target release date, progress status, and often a video walkthrough so you know what's on the way.
Use the contact form on the About page — messages come straight to me and I usually reply within 24 hours. There's no phone line and no support team; it's just me on the other end.
DOWNLOADS
After checkout you're sent straight to a download page with the file, and you'll get a confirmation email with a permanent re-download link. Free models download immediately — no checkout needed, just an account.
Every model ships with an STL — universal, works in every slicer. When it makes sense I also include:
- 3MF — modern format that bundles print settings + colours
- OBJ — mesh with optional material data
- STEP — parametric CAD (Fusion 360, FreeCAD)
- Pre-supported STL — for resin printers, saves you the slicing time
- Multi-part kits — larger assemblies split into printable pieces, delivered as a ZIP
Yes — everything you've bought is permanently listed in your Purchase History. Re-download whenever you need, as many times as you need. If I update the file later (fix, add a variant, new format), you get the update for free.
First: try re-downloading from your Purchase History (fixes 90% of cases — usually a browser hiccup). If it's still broken, send me a note with the model name and I'll email you the file directly. I'd rather fix it than have you frustrated.
When I push an updated version of a model you've bought, you'll see an "Update available" badge next to it in your Purchase History, and you can grab the new file. If you opt into email notifications, I'll send a heads-up too.
BUNDLES
A bundle is a group of my models sold together at a discount — usually themed (e.g. a Halloween pack, a Zelda pack, an articulated-animals pack). Buy the bundle once and every model in it lands in your Purchase History for permanent re-download. Cheaper than buying each model individually.
Sometimes — if I add a model that clearly belongs in an existing bundle (like a new dragon variant to the "Dragons" bundle), I'll drop it in and everyone who already bought that bundle gets it too, for free. Any additions are noted on the bundle's detail page.
Not yet, but it's on the roadmap. For now the shop is one-off purchases and bundle packs — no membership or recurring charge required. If you'd find an all-access plan useful, let me know, it helps me prioritise.
Absolutely — every purchase is yours forever. Files stay downloadable from your Purchase History, and downloaded copies on your device are unaffected by anything on my end.
PRINTING & FILES
All of the popular ones — Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, Cura, SuperSlicer, Chitubox, Lychee Slicer. STL and 3MF are universal. STEP files (if included) open in Fusion 360, FreeCAD, or any CAD tool. I test on my own printers so I know the files are slice-clean.
Anything FDM or resin. Each model's detail page lists the printer I tested it on and recommended settings (layer height, supports, infill), so you can dial it in fast. When a model is resin-specific or FDM-specific, it's clearly labelled.
Yes — every model page has my recommended layer height, infill %, whether supports are needed, and any wall/perimeter tips. If a model ships as a 3MF, those settings are baked in too so you just hit slice-and-print in Bambu Studio or PrusaSlicer.
Every model has multiple angles and a photo of my actual test print — so you know what it'll look like coming off your printer, not just a pretty render. Some upcoming designs also have video walkthroughs on the Coming Soon page.
Most STLs run 5–50 MB. Multi-part kits arrive as one ZIP with everything inside. Downloads use HTTPS and resume automatically if interrupted on modern browsers.
Try re-downloading first — 9 times out of 10 it's a browser quirk. If it's still broken, tell me which model and I'll send you the file directly. If I can't fix it, I'll refund the purchase, no arguments.
LICENSING & PRINTS
Yes, absolutely — that's what the files are for. Print as many copies as you like for your own use, gifts for friends and family, cosplay, whatever. That's included with every purchase.
Small-scale personal sales (Etsy, local craft fairs, print-on-demand from your own printer) — yes, go for it. Please credit "designed by Shawn @ 3DShawn.com" when practical.
Mass production, factory runs, or reselling as your own design — reach out first so we can talk about a commercial license.

No — the files themselves are for you, not for redistribution. Sharing, re-uploading to other sites, or reselling the file isn't allowed. If a friend loves what you printed, send them here and I'll give them a warm welcome (and you both benefit if I ever run a referral thing).
Personal remixes for your own use — sure, tinker away. Scale it, add a name to it, cut it in half, whatever you need to print it your way.
Sharing or selling the modified version — check with me first. Simple case-by-case, usually easy to say yes when there's real added work on top of my design.

BILLING
All the major credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover. PayPal and Apple Pay are on the roadmap. Payments are processed through Stripe, so your card details never touch my server.
Digital goods are generally non-refundable once downloaded — but I'm reasonable. If something's genuinely broken, wasn't what you expected, or you got double-charged, let me know within 7 days and we'll sort it. I'd rather have a happy customer than an argument.
Emailed automatically the moment your payment goes through. If you need a re-send or an itemised invoice, it's also available in your Purchase History at any time.
No — my server never sees your card number. Everything runs through Stripe. If you opt into "save for next time" at checkout, Stripe stores a token on their end so you can one-click on your next purchase; I only ever see the last 4 digits.
ACCOUNT & PRIVACY
Log in, click your avatar (top right), then update email or password from your account settings. Email changes need a quick confirmation link sent to the new address before they stick.
Hit Log In up top, then Forgot Password. Enter your email and you'll get a reset link. Check spam if it doesn't arrive within a few minutes. Reset links expire after 1 hour for safety.
Head to Account → Close account. Your profile and personal info are removed within 30 days. Files you've already downloaded onto your printer/PC are yours forever — they're not affected by closing the account.
Just what's needed to run the shop and serve you: your email address, purchase history, download logs, and basic anonymised analytics (which pages get visited, roughly where visitors are in the world). Nothing is sold or shared with third parties, ever.
Under Account → Preferences → Notifications. Toggle new-model announcements, sale alerts, model-update pings, or marketing emails independently. Every email also has a one-click unsubscribe at the bottom.
